Born2Localize proposes a comprehensive workshop specifically designed to equip UAE National Service graduates with the essential skills and strategies needed for an effective transition from academic settings to dynamic professional landscapes. This workshop aligns with the UAE’s NAFIS program and the broader Emiratisation agenda, aiming to enhance the integration of Emirati nationals into the private sector. By focusing on career readiness, professional development, and the cultivation of a growth mindset, our workshop prepares participants not only to meet the expectations of potential employers but to excel in fulfilling the nation’s vision for a resilient and diversified economy.

Objective:

Our workshop is crafted to align with the UAE’s vision for increasing the participation of Emiratis in the private sector, addressing the NAFIS program’s goals and contributing to the national strategy of Emiratization. By providing a tailored set of tools and skills, we aim to prepare UAE National Service graduates to not only meet but excel in the expectations of potential employers, transforming their educational achievements into professional success.

Workshop (One to Two days):

  1. What Employers Look For in Fresh Graduates:
    Participants will engage in a skills-matching game to better understand how their strengths align with job roles, focusing on the most in-demand skills sought by employers.
  2. How to Write a Resume Without Work Experience:
    This session will offer step-by-step guidance for participants to create their own resumes, highlighting academic achievements, volunteer work, and pertinent skills.
  3. Job Search 101:
    Participants will learn how to effectively navigate job search platforms and uncover job opportunities that match their career goals, developing strategies for finding and evaluating job listings.
  4. Preparing for Your First Interview:
    Through mock interviews, participants will learn to answer common interview questions
    confidently while receiving feedback to improve their performance.
  5. Understanding Job Offers and What to Look For:
    This session will help participants evaluate job offers critically, including salary, benefits, and work-life balance, and learn negotiation techniques to make informed decisions.
  6. What Makes You Unique? (For Personal Branding):
    Participants will develop and practice delivering their personal elevator pitches, focusing on what makes them unique to stand out in the job market.
  7. Life Balance and Career Choices:
    Participants will assess their life balance using a “Life Balance Wheel” and set actionable goals for healthy work-life integration.
  8. Exploring Career Paths:
    Through career mapping, participants will outline the steps needed to reach their professional goals, providing a visual roadmap to take control of their career paths.
  9. Networking 101:
    A speed networking session will give participants the opportunity to practice introductions and build connections with their peers, fostering a professional network from day one.
  10. Developing a Growth Mindset for Career Success:
    Participants will reflect on past challenges and explore strategies to maintain a positive, growth oriented mindset for long-term success, turning setbacks into learning opportunities.
